“What did you say about the Song and Dance Festival? Are you kidding me? You don’t know a thing. Shut up, and I’ll tell you what really matters.”
Nine very different Estonians find themselves in the same room. And they think they know why they’re there. But little by little, these nine worlds begin to clash, hurting one another and imposing their own worldviews, even though they share a common goal.
Should the Song and Dance Festival tradition continue or not?
This trigger reveals something even more important, and the conflict that follows, shows a lot about who we are. Funny, sad, and at times unsettling. Definitely absurd, but at the same time honest.
To what extent are they talking about the Song Festival, and to what extent are they talking about themselves? To what extent do they simply want to be seen and appreciated?
The production is one of the graduation projects by the actors of the 16th class at the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy.
