In “Everyday Symphony”, young people are exploring how to cope with everyday life in society. We will test the musical skills of circus artists and the physical abilities of musicians – in a contemporary production, artists convey a message through rhythm and movement, while orchestra members step out of their traditional comfort zones, playing complex pieces in unconventional forms and positions or improvising. The uncanny interplay between orchestral music and the circus creates a mystical world where unusual art forms and extraordinary combinations are born.

The production travels through different social situations that affect people of all ages – moments where we need to respect, support and trust each other. The social need to belong to a group while remaining independent. Freedom of choice and the pressure to decide. Artists find themselves in similar situations. Each instrument in an orchestra sounds beautiful on its own, but truly wonderful sound is only created when players respect and feel each other. A circus performer can only do tricks if he trusts his partners. However, it is always possible to work alone – to play a solo or perform an individual number.

How to find a balance between self-fulfilment and collaboration? Is one more important than the other? Do you reach a new level together, or do you lose your individuality and merge into one? Through a contemporary performance, we test the boundaries of human relationships and trust, looking for the play that emerges when circus meets brass music. We are separate but intertwined.

The concert-performance will feature nearly one hundred 10-20 year old OMAtsirkus artists and instrumentalists from the Estonian Youth Orchestra.

The performance is spectacular. Contemporary circus genres are presented with live orchestral music. No verbal presentations are used, and the performance is suitable for all ages and all mother tongues.
