In 2018, 2.4 percent of the Estonian population lived in absolute poverty.

However, 21.7 percent of the population, or 284,300 Estonians, lived in relative poverty. Who are they?

Where and under what conditions do these people, almost a quarter of the Estonian population, live?

How far from that standard of living am I or my loved ones?

What is the difference between the poor and the rich when we leave the income out of the equation and focus on people’s homes instead?

The world of numbers is anonymous and cold – all shades of grey disappear and only black and white remain; it either is or isn’t; rich or poor; successful or unsuccessful.

The production takes viewers closer to the people, to their homes, to look beyond rigid statistics.

Are the homes of the representatives of different living standards really so clearly distinguishable?

On what basis do we judge whether someone is wealthy or poor?

What does a home say about a person’s income, self-image and dreams?

Is the feeling of poverty something other than poverty itself?

What does it feel like to visit a stranger’s home for the first time?

Can this feeling be deceiving?
