Marius Ivaškevičius
Marius Ivaškevičius (b. 1973) is a Lithuanian author and playwright but has also worked as a film director and screenwriter. He is the author of 11 plays that have been staged in Lithuania, Russia, Italy, France, Poland,
Finland, Latvia, New Zealand, and Estonia. He became more widely known to the Estonian audience in 2016 when Hendrik Toompere jr at the Estonian Drama Theater directed Ivaškevičius’s play “Ejection or the Chronicle of an Apple.” The play was on the theater schedule until 2022.
In 2021, Marius Ivaškevičius received a special award from the Estonian Theater Union for creating the Vaba Lava curatorial program, in which it was highlighted that the theater program reflects the common experiences of post-Soviet Eastern Europe in a fresh form.
Description
2019/2020 ja 2020/2021 hooaegadel on Vaba Lava kuraatoriks leedu näitekirjanik Marius Ivaškevičius. Kahe hooaja kuraatoriprogrammi teemaks on “Murranguaja inimesed”, mille fookuses on aastad 1989–2019 ning Baltimaad ja nende lähinaabrid: Venemaa, Valgevene ja Ukraina. Just sellistes geograafilistes ja ajalistes piirides soovib Vaba Lava teatrikunsti vahendeid kasutades uurida inimeste saatusi.
